The story behind the gear
Our story began over 100 years ago in a canvas tent on the remote and untamed northern prairies. This is where we learned about the craft of protection and its vital impact on people, their livelihoods, and their futures.
Over this time, Norseman has grown and evolved from being a mere maker of products to a leading manufacturer of high-performance gear.
While products allow you to do your job, gear is much more. It's painstakingly designed and meticulously crafted to address the real-world challenges those who rely on it face daily.
Fabrics and foams have a range of properties that stand up to the challenges our customers face. Over our more than 100 years in operation, there's very little we haven't been able to accomplish with these materials.
Our gear is used extensively across various industries worldwide, including automotive, aerospace, product protection, industrial parts, marine, building and construction, military, medical, and sports and leisure.
The result of our tireless efforts to understand, appreciate, analyze, dissect, and truly grasp the struggles, pressures, and obstacles that stand between our customers and their goals.
We make GEAR2PERFORM
This obsession comes from a relentless drive to continually find better ways to contribute to your success: through innovative thinking and new technologies.
And it is inspired by a belief that failure is not an option. Good gear is durable, reliable, and versatile, and you count on it to help you accomplish what you've set out to do, regardless of the weather or jobsite conditions.
At Norseman, we're committed to protecting people, products, and environments, and we look forward to helping you do the same.
Our Guiding Principles
These fundamental principles constitute how we think, act, and deliver for our customers, partners, and employees daily at Norseman.
We give people and products the opportunity to perform at their best.
Product and service reliability.
To become the center of excellence for fabric, film and foam-based protective gear.
At Norseman, we have a tenet that drives everything we do. Our Fiercely Reliable tagline communicates our current values in a strong and confident voice. "Fiercely Reliable" is an attitude consistent with our longstanding reputation, outstanding track record, and tradition of developing safe, dependable products.
This is an attitude which goes beyond by saying, "We are a company driven to be the industry leader in every market. We are hungry to do business with you and passionate about moving your business forward with our innovative products."
Being Fiercely Reliable is a promise the Norseman brand makes to our customers, employees, and other people we do business with; it goes beyond being a tagline and is Norseman's brand promise.
Our values lay the foundation for what we care about most, and they provide a common purpose that we work towards and live by.
We do the right thing and hold each other to be accountable – to do what we say we will do – both individually and as an organization.
THINK LIKE A CUSTOMER
Driven by our problem solving curiosity we strive to continually improve every aspect of our business by taking the extra step to solve problems with an appropriate sense of urgency.
WE TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER
We care and respect our customers, fellow employees and business partners by understanding their needs and providing the support they require.
Effective teamwork allows everyone to accomplish more by unleashing our collective ingenuity to find better solutions.
We are good corporate citizens and try to make a difference in the communities we operate in.
