What's the primary purpose of Resin & Chemical, Full PE Liners?

Resin & Chemical Full PE Liners are designed to convert standard shipping containers into sealed, contamination-free systems for transporting bulk dry commodities, including resins, chemicals, fertilizers, and mineral products. They offer six-sided protection, so any small granular products stay fully contained, and you don’t get spillage of any strong chemical agents that contaminate the container’s interior.

Do you need a bulkhead for the Resin & Chemical, Full PE Liner?

No, these liners offer full six-sided protection, and the front of the liner has a fully attached bulkhead that you secure with bracing bars. Norseman recommends five galvanized, hollow-tube steel bars that are 1.5” x 1.5” with a 0.083” wall and 94.5” long. The added feature of the resin & chemical liner is that it comes with the three discharge chutes. Simply cut the liner at the bottom, unfurl the chute, and secure it to the equipment being used to discharge the contents.

How do you load this type of liner?

The Resin & Chemical, Full PE Liner has two chutes at the top of the liner that can attach to a blower or loading spigot that is secured, and loading can commence. There is a small, clear section at the front of the liner that you can use as a window to check how full the liner is becoming during loading. Once loading is complete, the chutes can be tied off and secured to keep the contents free from any air inside the container from leaking in, or contents from spilling out during transport.

What container sizes are compatible with these liners?

They are designed to fit standard ISO shipping containers, specifically 20-foot and 40-foot standard containers, as well as 40-foot high-cube containers. This makes them suitable for a wide range of intermodal shipping applications. Custom liners are available. Contact a Norseman sales rep if you need one for a unique container size.

What are all the different chutes on the front of the liner for?

The bottom three chutes are all discharge chutes for unloading and the tope left chute is for loading instruments while the other one is a vent to permit airflow. Once the loading process is completed the loading chute and the vent can be tied off before shitting the door and the container is shipped on its way. The advantage of having three different discharge chutes is that it makes vertical unloading possible. You can keep one door of the container closed before raising the container, this is considered a safer unloading method.

How many intake and discharge spouts are required?

There is typically one intake spout for product to go in and one discharge spout for air to come out at the top of the liner. Norseman provides different options for discharge spouts depending on your needs.
